Ted Anthony Mendoza, 61, of Corpus Christi passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017. Born Feb. 1, 1956, in Hondo, he was the son of Antonio "Tony" Mendoza and Margarita Alvarez Mendoza. Ted was a member of the Hondo High School Class of 1974 and was a Boy Scout, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business at Texas A&M where he was also a member of the Corps. Ted was general manager for Summit Electric, overseeing stores in Corpus Christi, Kenedy and Victoria. He is preceded in death by his mother and his son, Joshua Villanueva. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Lerma Mendoza of Corpus Christi; father, Antonio "Tony" (Nora) Mendoza of Hondo; son, Jacob Mendoza of Thrall; daughters, Tricia Lerma of Corpus Christi and Veronica (Marcos) Mendoza of Harlingen; brother, Michael (Sandra) Mendoza of San Antonio; and a large extended family. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., with Rosary recited at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 25, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
