Teofilo Ybarra Jr., age 75, of Hondo passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008. He was born Dec. 13, 1932, in Hondo, the son of Teofilo and Paula (DeLeon) Ybarra. He was a semi-truck driver. Teofilo was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eduardo I and II; sister, Olivia; and brother-in-law, Frank Alvarez. He is survived by his wife, Carmen Ybarra; son, Ray Ybarra and wife Diane; daughters, Alma Rodriguez and husband Fernando, Patricia Tapia and husband Reynaldo, Delma Garcia and husband Ramiro, Paula Holt and husband Hank, all of Hondo; grandchildren, Veronica, Rebecca, Amanda, Angela, Chris, Selica, Erik, Alyssa, Leandra, Andrew, Jennifer, Reonnie, Jill, Edward, Teresa, and Lane; great-grandchildren, Eduardo, Diego, Kennedy, Rodrick, Andrew, Amily, Bethany, Kristin, Kawika, Ronnie James, Roman, Sarah, Jojo, Cara, and Autumn; brothers, Alfredo and wife Lea of San Antonio, Juan and wife Fannie of Hondo, Jesus and wife Joyce of San Antonio; sisters, Ramona Alcarez and husband Roberto of Hondo, Santos Alvarez and husband Frank of Hondo, Josie Yezierski and husband John of San Antonio, and Eva Cortez and husband Ernesto of Hondo. Rosary was led by Epifania Ybarra and Eva Cortez on Monday, Nov. 17. Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Ken Dakin, was held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Pallbearers were Erik Hinojosa, Chris Ybarra, Andrew Garcia, Ronnie Garcia, Rene Quintanilla, and Ermilo Quintanilla. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
