Terry Denise Averitt Griffin, age 45, of Comfort, formerly of Hondo, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014. Born in Chicago IL, Oct. 27, 1969, she was the daughter of John Aubrey Averitt and Phyllis E. Beesler Averitt. Terry was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her sons, Brooks Aubrey Griffin and Daulton James Griffin, both of Hondo; mother, Phyllis Averitt of Comfort; sisters, Sue (Kevin) Long and Kristie Boettcher, all of Hondo; niece, Mindi (Andrew) Gilliam; nephews, K.W. Long, Cody Boettcher and Jake Boettcher; and great-nephews, Ryan, Fisher and Hunter Gilliam. The family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 24, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Guinn-Horger Chapel, followed by a Rosary memorial service at 10 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Terry Griffin Fund at Vantage Bank (formerly D'Hanis State Bank), 1401 19th Street, Hondo 78861.
