Thomas A. Lopez of Hondo, age 66, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024.

Born Jan. 7, 1958, in Hondo, he was the son of Ramon C. and Dolores Abrigo Lopez.

Thomas very much loved his wife, kids and grandkids and especially enjoyed riding around the countryside with them. Hanging out with his son, his brothers, and his best friend, Fallon, were among his favorite things. He loved his music, dancing with his cane, working with his tools, tinkering with his truck, and satisfying his sweet tooth.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 38 years, Celia Garcia Lopez; brothers, Isidro and baby Pete Lopez; sister, Dolores Lopez; and stepson, Richard Garcia.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Lopez (Alex Muñiz); son, Tommy Garcia (Sylvia); stepdaughters, Cindy Ayala (Ruben) and Rose Tovar (Christopher); 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ramon Lopez (Rebecca), Diama Isidro (Braulio), Josie Remutico (Jose), Molly Campos, Jimmy Lopez, Pete Lopez and Velinda McMillan (Greg).

Visitation will be at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 8p.m., Thursday, Feb. 15, pausing for recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Feb. 16, at  St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church followed by interment  at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Annex.
