Thomas Nixon Ortiz of Hondo, six years old, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on  Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019.

Born Oct. 17, 2013, in Lubbock, he was the son of Anthony Keith Ortiz and Vivyan Mesza.

Thomas was a strong boy with a big heart. A fighter to the end, he was surrounded by his loving family when cancer took him away.

His memory will be always be cherished by his parents; sisters, Marley and Hanley Ortiz; brother, Yadier Ortiz; and grandparents, Noel and Susie Ortiz of Bovina TX, Richard Mesza of Uvalde, and Gloria Reyes of Hondo.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Guinn-Horger Chapel, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., and interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
