Tomas Gauna of Yancey, Texas, passed away June 28, 2004, at the age of 80 years, 5 months, 30 days. Tomas was born on December 29, 1923, to Domingo & Sesaria (DeLeon) Gauna in Yancey, Texas. He was preceded by his parents; wife: Maria (Arredondo) Gauna; daughter: Josie Hernandez, daughter-in-law: Tomasa (Carrillo) Gauna; brothers: Ernesto Gauna, Gregorio Gauna; sister: Tomasita Sarabia. Tomas is survived by his sons: Guadalupe Gauna of Hondo, Domingo Gauna and wife Clemencia of Germany, Ramon Gauna and Irma of Devine, Pedro Gauna and wife Elvira of Moore; daughters: San Juanita Moreno and husband Marcial, Jr. of Thief River Falls, MN, Leonor Moncada and husband Juan of Yancey; son-in-law: Raul Hernandez of Devine; 20 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren; brother: Victoriano Gauna of Somerset; sisters: Juanita Jaramillo of Austin, Louisa Reyna of Uvalde. The Rosary will be at 7:00 pm Thursday, July 1, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Friday, July 2, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The pallbearers aregrandsons: Adam Moncada, Eric Hernandez, Michael Moreno, Abel Moncada, David Gauna, Pete Gauna, Jr. Interment will follow in Yancey Cemetery.
