Thomas "Tommy" Dale McManus passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Tommy was born on February 15, 1929 in Riverside, California, the son of Thomas and Anna McManus. He moved to Texas at a very early age and was raised in Channelview. He graduated from Robert E Lee High school in Baytown, TX. Tommy then attended Lee College, followed by law school at South Texas College of Law, when he graduated in April 1958. Tommy married Alice in 1961. During law school, which he attended at night, he worked during the day as a rural mail carrier before becoming the Postmaster in Channelview, TX. He practiced general law in Channelview and was a charter member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Tommy has always been an avid fisherman, and after retirement, he and Alice moved to Livingston, TX, so he could continue this hobby as well as gardening. They also enjoyed travelling the country together in their RV. He and Alice moved to Tarpley TX, in 2005, where Tommy learned the art of ranching and raising cattle.
