A tragic highway accident took the life of 21-year-old Travis Ray Pursley of Hondo early Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025.

Born in San Antonio Feb. 28, 2004, he graduated as a beloved member of Hondo High School Class of 2023.

Travis always brought joy to whomever he met. He was a blessing to life, a loving, caring young man who was always smiling and so easy going. Anyone that met Travis couldn't help but to love him. He was a special, unique, amazing young man who brought light all around him. He was one-in-a-million and just a complete blessing to life. He will be missed dearly.

His dream was to go to college and become a football coach. Travis was a huge jokester, he loved to go on road trips, and, most of all, he was a food critic. He loved going to eat at all different restaurants and, if he didn't like the place, the restaurant got sifted. Travis also loved music.

Travis' family invites his friends and former classmates to celebrate his life on Saturday, Dec. 6,  at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with recitation of the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and memorial service at 10:30, followed by a reception at the Hermann Sons Lodge Hall.
