Trinidad Soliz Garcia, age 86 years, 1 month, and 0 days, of Yancey, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2005. She was born in Yancey, on February 4, 1919, the daughter of Leonardo & Rosa (Martinez) Soliz. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Augustine Garcia, Sr; daughter, Guadalupe Sanchez; son, Joe Louis Garcia; grandsons, Joey Lopez, Martin Villanueva, and Juan Garcia; son-in-law, Patrick Heissler. Trinidad is survived by her sons, Augustine Garcia, Jr. and wife Anita of Lytle, Jose Manuel Garcia and wife Linda of Dilley, Sammy Garcia and wife Margarita of Yancey, Joe Frank Garcia and wife Josie of Hondo; daughters, Janie Villanueva and husband Martin of LaGrange, Victoria Heissler of San Antonio, Rosie Thompson and friend Larry Burell, Mary Lou Velarde and husband Raul, Mary Jane Arausa and husband Willie, Ruby Rodriguez and Billy Joe Gonzales; 46 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Emeterio Soliz of Seguin, Benjamin Soliz of Lubbock; sisters, Manuela Bautista of Lubbock, Mary Ann Guajardo of Lubbock, Irene Hernandez of Lubbock. The Rosary is at 8:00 pm Monday, March 7, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home and the Funeral Mass is at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 8, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The pallbearers were Miller Garcia, Martin Villanueva, Jr., Samuel Garcia, Jr., Armando Gurierrez, Jr., Orlando Gutierrez, Daniel Thompson. The burial will follow at the Yancey Cemetery.
