Valerie Ann (Prescott) Breathwit, age 51, of Castroville and Hondo passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Born June 18, 1962, in San Antonio, she was the daughter of Finis A. and Mary Emma (Britsch) Prescott. Her father preceded her in death. Valerie was a loving daughter, sister and friend and will be deeply missed.She was an administrative clerk at Hondo ISD and also had worked part time at Sammy's Restaurant in Castroville and Hermann Sons Steak House in Hondo. Survivors include her mother, Mary Emma Mathews; stepfather, Al Mathews; brother, James Prescott and wife Jonna of Pearland; brothers, Tim Mathews and wife Dodie of New Mexico, Howard Lewis Mathews and wife Nina of Japan; and sister, Sandra Sexton and husband Jeremy of D'Hanis. Visitation will be Monday, May 26, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, at New Fountain United Methodist Church. Service will conclude at the church.
