Velma Wilhelmina (Lieber) Finger, age 96, of Hondo and D'Hanis passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2007. She was born in Rio Medina Dec. 25, 1910. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Finger; sister, Olga Lieber Michna; parents, William Lieber and Philomena (Zerr) Lieber; and grandchildren, Kelly and Shelly Finger. She is survived by her son, Richard Allen Finger and wife Carol; daughters, Carol Long and husband Roy and Barbara Thompson and husband Robert; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 18, 6 to 8 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The pallbearers were Kevin Long, Steve Turner, Tony Sowa, Al Rath, Clark Cash, Stephen Long. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, D'Hanis.
