Ventura (Hernandez) Hernandez, age 86, of Hondo passed away Monday, Mar. 14, 2011. Born July 14, 1924, in Hondo, she was the daughter of Lorenzo and Placida (Moreno) Hernandez. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bonefacio Hernandez; infant daughter, Isabel Oralia Hernandez; sisters, Belen Arnold and Nicolasa Hernandez; and brothers, Santos and Pancho Hernandez. Survivors are her sons, Richard Hernandez and wife Diama of Hondo and Hector Hernandez and wife Yvonne of San Antonio; brother, Tomas Hernandez and wife Flora of San Antonio; sisters, Minerva Sanchez of Boise, ID, and Concha Moreno of Idaho Falls, ID; grandchildren, Anthony D. Rodriguez, Richard Michael Hernandez, Jasmine Hernandez and Justin Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Mar. 18, with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
