Vera Sofie (Richter) Ledbetter, age 91, of Hondo passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, in Ft. Worth. Born Feb. 23, 1918, in Boerne, she was the daughter of Emil and Meta (Heidrich) Richter. She is preceded in death by parents; her husband of 49 years, Jess L. Ledbetter; and brother, Willard Richter. She is survived by her twin sister, Anita Zoeller; sister-in-law, Maggie Richter; children, Jessica Meyer and husband John, George Ledbetter and wife, Karen; grandchildren, Robin Rosenberg and husband Marshal, Rachel Mast and husband Sean, Ashley Ledbetter and Ali Ledbetter; great-grandchildren, Marshall and Michael Rosenberg, Rase and Rett Mast; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vera and her family moved to Hondo in 1958. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Hondo. Rev. Andy Tyson led a service of worship celebrating her life Feb. 18 at First United Methodist Church of Hondo. Entombment was at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Mausoleum. Honorary pallbearers were her nephews, Douglas Richter, Randy Richter, Sam Zoeller, Evan Bohnert and Ruben Bohnert. The family suggests memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Hondo or a charity of one's choice.
