Verlean Ruth Flory was born June 14, 1928 in Hondo, Texas. She passed away June 1, 2003 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 74 years. Verlean was preceded in death by her parents: Otto John & Louise Jane (Saathoff) Mumme; husband: Alfred Kenneth Flory; brothers: Alton, Hillert, Raymond, and Marvin Mumme; sisters: Lucille Vogel, Mary Brucks, Vernell Sibley, Lillie Mae Neuman. Surviving are her sons: Gordon Flory of Hondo, and Henry Flory and wife Janet of San Antonio; daughters: Diane Sokolowski and husband Randy of San Antonio, and MaryAnne Flory of Houston; grandchildren: Brandi, Nathan, Michelle, Daniel, Christopher, Stephanie. The Rosary will be at 9:30 am on Thursday, June 5, and the Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 5, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Interment will follow at the Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section. The family suggests that memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
