Victoriano D. Gauna, age 80, of Yancey passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Born Nov. 17, 1932, in Yancey, he was the son of Domingo and Sesaria (DeLeon) Gauna. He was a lifelong farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ernesto, Gregorio, Tomas and Abelino Gauna, Juanita Jaramillo and Tomasita Sarabia. Survivors include his sister, Luisa Reyna of Uvalde, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., with Rosary recited at 7 p.m., Sunday, June 30, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Monday, July 1, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, followed by interment at Yancey Cemetery. Pallbearers are Richard Lopez, Julio Obregon Jr., Jose Luis Obregon, Eden Gauna, Cruz Gauna Jr., and Justin Moncada.
