Virginia Kay Goates Miller of Hondo, age 68, passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015. Born in Rosenberg, Feb. 16, 1947, she was one of nine children of James Wilburn and Betty Louise Norman Goates. Her parents preceded her in death. She lived a very hard life, but always had a positive outlook and never complained. She had a beautiful spirit and loved her family with her whole heart. She had worked as a cashier at HEB. Survivors include her five children, Candy K. (Steve) McCaleb of Sterling City, James F. Reece of Hondo, Barbara L. Reece of LaCoste, Joseph F. Reece Jr. and Deserrae E. Reece, both of Hondo; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother, James (Doris) Goates of Rosenberg; and sisters, Elaine (James) Dreymala of Pasadena, Norma (Gene) Howard of Bryan, Carrol Hargreaves of Kenedy, Kathy (Philip) Ampelas of Cibolo, twins Donna (Hal) Harrell of Uvalde and Danna Neutze of Seguin, and Mary Beth Nelson of Marion. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
