Obituary

Virginia "Nana" Hartung, 84, of St. Paul, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 17, 2012. Virginia was born on June 15, 1928 in Bulpitt, Illinois to Leslie H. and Mamie F. Cross. She was a former secretary for the Texas Department of Transportation and San Patricio County Auditor's office. Preceding Virginia in death are her parents, son James Leslie Hartung, sisters Betty Maxwell and Wanda Clary. She is survived by her five children: Clinton Hartung, Cathy Deitz, Gary (Bonnie) Hartung, Thomas (Mary Anne) Hartung, and Jeffrey Hartung; She was blessed with 14 grandchildren: Desi (Jesse) Rios, Kevin (Sarah) Hartung, Jeff Hartung, Brian (Kari) Hartung, Kari (Mike) Pack, Tommy Hartung, Kristy Deitz, Jessica Hartung (Jose), Francie (Cameron) Collier, Josh Hartung, Ronnie (Monica) Deitz, Ryan Deitz, Wesley Hartung, and Gwyn Hartung. She was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren: Javy, Lexi, Koby and Cassie Rios, Harlow Hartung, Jase, Brayden and Kynlie Hartung, Rylan Constante and Madi Martinez, Travis Hartung, Makenna Collier, Tristan Deitz and one more on the way. Nieces and nephews Jack (Joan) Hartung Jr and family, Bobby (Michelle) Hartung and family, Susie (Tim) Evans and family, Patti Jo (David) Wylie and family, Richard Maxwell and family, Vicki Clary and family, and Buck Clary and family. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother who enjoyed gardening, baking, and camping with her family. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. We love you Mom. We love you Nana. Burial services will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery in Hondo, TX, on September 30, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to either the American Heart Association, Attn: Keeli McNair, 500 N. Shoreline Blvd, Suite 203 N, Corpus Christi, TX 78471 or the Gulf Coast Humane Society of Corpus Christi, 3118 Cabaniss Pkwy, Corpus Christi, TX 78415.
