Virginia Moehring Jenkins of Hondo passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020.

Born in Hondo, Nov. 24, 1922, she was the daughter of Oscar and Dora W. Balzen Moehring.

Having lived for a time in San Antonio, Virginia spent most of her life in Medina County. She was a faithful and active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She worked at Medina Electric Coop until retiring and enjoyed traveling with Jim as he met with customers of his feed business. After Jim's passing, she managed her home and farm until health required that she move to Medina Valley Health and Rehab in Castroville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim E. Jenkins; son, Norvell Jenkins; brother, Harold Moehring; and sister-in-law, Gladys Moehring.

Survivors include her grandson, David (Darla) Winship of Corpus Christi; granddaughter, Katherine (Brandon) Herald of San Antonio; great-granddaughter, Whitnee Wittner of Corpus Christi; great-great-grandchildren, Brayson Sutton and Leighton Wittner; daughter-in-law, Joyce Jenkins of San Antonio; nieces, Lyn (Larry) Muennink and Sherrill (Henry) Nester, all of Hondo; and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.

Funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 22, 10 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Woodmen Section. Masks and social distancing are required.
