Wilfreen Marie Boehme Saathoff, of Quihi, passed away in Hondo on May 1, 2013. Wilfreen was born in Rio Medina on Nov. 6, 1920, to August Jacob Boehme and Millie Haby Boehme. On Jan. 20, 1940 she married Mathis Henry Saathoff at St. Louis Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in 2005. Together they had six children. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Wilfreen was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lester Boehme and two grandchildren, Christine Seekatz and Daniel Saathoff. She was a life time member of St. Louis Catholic Church, St. Ann's Society for over 50 years, a member of Hermann Sons and the Red Hat Society and belonged to Bunco and Pitch Clubs. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynette and Jimmy Stewart of Quihi, Joan Seekatz of Mico, Madelyn and Gary Schott of Helotes, Yvonne and Wayne Stein of Hondo; sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin and Birdie Saathoff of Portland, Curtis and Terry Saathoff of San Antonio; 14 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild expected soon; sister and brother-in-law, Leora and C.J. Mangold of Hondo; sisters-in-law, Helen Boehme of Hondo and Velma Saathoff of Medina; numerous nieces and nephews. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home will be open for visitation on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Holy Rosary and Mass of Resurrection will both be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at St. Louis Catholic Church, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section in Hondo. Pallbearers will be her fourteen surviving grandchildren: Dean Stewart, James Stewart, Monique VandeWalle, Staci Boehme, Cheryl Richter, June Seekatz, Bonnie Perales, Hank Schott, Luke Schott, Katie McClain, Matt Saathoff, Kylie Saathoff, Abby Wilson and Zach Stein.
