William Howard "Bill" Adams

William Howard “Bill” Adams of Hondo, 81, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Born Jan. 5, 1945, in Steger, IL, he was the son of Albert and Bernice Starkey Adams.

Bill retired after a 30-year career as a supervisor for the EG&G Automotive Research Test Fleet.

He was a hardworking, humble, and honest man. Bill found joy in working with his hands and could often be found tinkering on one project or another.

More than anything, Bill loved his family. He was a devoted husband, proud father, and loving grandfather. His greatest legacy is the love and values he instiled in those he cherished.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, John “Jack” and Jimmy.

He leaves behind his wife, Irene Alcorta Adams; granddaughter, Brittany D. King (Cody); and stepdaughter, Monica Farley (James), and son, William M. Appleberry (Faryal) of California.

Friends and family will gather to visit at 3:00 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel and celebration of his life will begin at 4:00 p.m.
