Will J. "Sarge" Ney, age 94, of Hondo passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010. He was born Sept. 6, 1916, in Hondo to William and Tillie (Engleman) Ney. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth, the love of his life; sister and brother-in-law, Ethelyn and Buster Conrad; sister, Geraldine Brown, brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Helen Ney; sister-in-law, Gene Ney; niece, Ginger Kay Conrad; nephew, John Kelly Ney; and niece, Debbie Ney. He is survived by his brother, Oscar and wife Dora Ney; brother-in-law, Bill Brown; niece, Becky and Gary Holzhaus; nephew, Mickey and Cyndee Conrad; niece, Donna and Mark Lagleder; nephew, Billie and Jodie Ney; niece, Patsy and Zack Whitley; niece, Kay and John Christen; nephews, Peter Ney and Billy Ney; and many great- and great-great- nephews and nieces who will miss him dearly, especially his wonderful stories. Visitation will be Monday, March 15, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Chapel, with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section.
