William Herman "Bill" Snyder, Sr., age 84, of Quihi, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008. He was born July 18, 1924, at Ft. Clark Hospital, Brackettville, the son of Russel L. and Beulah Myrtle (Conway) Snyder, who precede him in death. He retired as a steel mill foreman after 30 years and had also worked for the telephone company. Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Belle (Gerdes) Snyder of Quihi; sons, William H. Snyder Jr. and wife Rande of San Antonio and Richard Snyder and wife Marlene of Hondo; daughter, Sherrie Beralek and husband Don of Eddy; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be Sunday, 5 to 7 p.m,, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Quihi. Bearers were William H. Snyder Jr. , Richard D. Snyder, Don Beralek, Dennis J. McCarthy, Larry Coyle, and Archie Gerdes. Burial will be at Quihi Cemetery.
