Richard Weber, age 90, of San Antonio, Texas, died on November 28, 2007, in St. Luke's Baptist Hospital after a short illness. Born on the family farm in Medina County on February 4 1917, the eldest child of Willie and Lydia Weber. Richard served in the Army Air Force during WW II in England, ranched, farmed and ran heavy equipment, owned Weber Diesel Service in San Antonio and retired in 1985. He was a long time member of the Lions Club, Quihi Gun Club, Association of Diesel Specialists and St. John's United Methodist Church. Married to Linda Belle Saathoff on May 12, 1946, they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this past year. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe Russell Weber, who died Nov. 7; and brother-in-law, Bud Cheatle. Survivors include his wife, Linda Belle Weber of San Antonio; son, Richard Galen Weber and wife Marilyn of Uvalde, and Marilyn's children, Sherlyn and husband Dan Bourne, Tammy and husband Kevin Bammert, and Kevin and wife Tammy Crowsey; son, James William "Jim" Weber and wife Carolyn of Oklahoma City, OK, and children, Ryan, Duff and wife Larissa, and Brad; and daughter, Linda Susan Goodman and husband Alvin of Midlothian and children, Archie and Richard. He is also survived by his sisters, Rubedell Cheatle of San Angelo and Roselyn White and husband Bill of Hondo; brother, Doyle Weber and wife Adeline of Hondo; sister-in-law, Jackie Weber of Rio Medina; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home in Hondo from 4 to 7 pro on Friday (November 30) and a memorial service was held at 10:30 am, Saturday morning (December 1) at St. John's United Methodist Church, (2002 Bandera Rd.) San Antonio, with burial at Hondo Cemetery at 2 pm on Saturday afternoon. The family suggests, donations may be made to St John's United Methodist Church or the charity of one's choice.
