Wilma Aleen (Breiten) Bohlen, age 77 years, 4 months, one day, of Dunlay, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, in Castroville. She was born Aug. 14, 1931, the daughter of Alfred and Elma (Grube) Breiten. She was a homemaker and a cafeteria cook with Medina Valley ISD. She became a child of God through Holy Baptism on November 8, 1931 in St. Paul Lutheran Church. She affirmed her baptism through Confirmation on April 1, 1945. She was a life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was active in many areas until her health did not permit her to continue. At that time she continued a ministry of prayer. Wilma married Harold J. Bohlen on October 15, 1950. They lived on the farm in Dunlay and raised three children, James, Sharon and Robert. She was a homemaker and a cafeteria cook with Medina Valley ISD. She liked to crochet and made many beautiful items as gifts. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; Harold's parents, John & Emma (Breiten) Bohlen; Harold's stepmother, Amanda (Grell) Bohlen; two infant sons; brothers-in-law, Clarence E. Bohlen and Roy Bohlen, Clarence Saathoff, Ehme Saathoff; and sisters-in-law, Esther L. Saathoff and Lucille A. Saathoff. Wilma is survived by her sons, Robert A. "Bobby" Bohlen and wife Deberah and James Harold Bohlen, all of Dunlay; daughter, Sharon Elaine Wadlington and husband Ben of Adkins; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren Joseph Crickard, Matthew Crickard and wife Tiffanie, two step-great-grandchildren Kaleb & Autumn Crickard; brothers, John A. Breiten and wife Susie of Wisconsin and Alfred R. Breiten and wife Mildred of San Antonio; sister, Evelyn Dawson and husband George of San Antonio; and sisters-in-law, Aleen Bohlen, Della Bohlen, Mary Ann Hartmann, all of Hondo. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 20, 2 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hondo, with Pastor David Mayer officiating. Interment will be at Quihi Cemetery.
