Winona Helen Henson, age 77, passed away on July 31, 2005 at the Val Verde Regional Medical Center in Del Rio, Texas. She was born on June 29, 1928, in Hondo, Texas, the daughter of Alex George & Mary Margaret (Fohn) Wendland. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Melvin Wendland. Winona is survived by her husband Charles Augusta Henson, Jr. of Del Rio; grandson Alan Charles Henson of Houston; brothers Alex George Wendland, Jr., of Hondo, James Wendland and wife Genevieve of Bowie Maryland. The Visitation was Tuesday August 2, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Jeff Pehl, was at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. The pallbearers were Alan Henson, Bob Autrey, John Wardlaw, Joe Fohn, Joe Rembla, Norman Martindale. The Honorary pallbearers are the Lunch Bunch of 1945. The Burial followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
